Privacy Policy

Certain terms of the privacy policy below may apply to features of the site which have not yet been activated; this means that the policy applied may effectively be stricter than the terms set out below, as some data will not yet be collected.

TSC is totally committed to protecting the privacy of all of the visitors to the site.

Under certain circumstances the server will store information about the guests using it, both in order to help us enhance your experiences and also to help ensure the safety and integrity of the site. This page is designed to explain what information is collected and why, what we do and do not do with it and how this might affect you.

Please note that this privacy policy applies to guests and registered members of the site, but not to site staff, from whom more detailed personal information is required.

Personally Identifiable Information

TSC does NOT collect information from visitors which could be used locate them personally, such as postal addresses, telephone numbers or individual ID codes for any national or international identification schemes. Visitors who choose to register themselves as members of the TSC community are asked to provide semi-personal information such as their name and an e-mail address, and may be extended to include personal preferences and interests. This data is used in order to allow us to provide an effective service and keep our users informed and up to date. It is stored securely and the process of ensuring its confidentiality and integrity is taken very seriously.

Under very exceptional circumstances, within the context of providing effective support, it may be deemed appropriate to store notes about a regular user of the chat service regarding a specific support need. This information would only be accessible by the most senior support staff, and would be stored for the minimum amount of time. NO attempt would be made to link this information to an identifiable individual.

Access Logs

As standard policy, the TSC system stores information about which other computers across the internet have communicated with it. For the web pages, this is done by storing IP addresses; with the chat system a user ID and nickname may also be stored with the address.

The contents of our web server's logs remain anonymous. We do not share the contents of any logs with any third party, even anonymously.

Cookies

As part of the standard session management system on the site, the server offers browsers 'session cookies'. These cannot be used to track usage since they disappear from the user's computer as soon as the browser window is closed.

Registered users can also opt to use persistent cookies to enable the web system to recognise and authenticate them.

Third Parties

We do not share any personal, semi-personal or tracking information with any other party whatsoever, except with law enforcement agencies if we are compelled to do so on a matter of law.

Certain TSC web pages may link to external sites which are beyond our control; while our information is provided in good faith, we can accept no responsibility for the content of external sites, nor for their attitudes regarding privacy and the handling of personal data.

Site Integrity

As distinct from site staff, the server administrators responsible for the machine on which TSC is hosted reserve the right to perform capture or monitoring of any or all inbound or outbound packet flow, where it is felt that the security or integrity of the server or safety of its staff or users may be at risk in any way. Any information obtained in this manner will not be disclosed to any other persons (excepting law enforcement agencies where applicable), not even to site staff.

Acceptance of Terms

If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use the TSC site. Your continued use of our site following the posting of any changes to these terms, following the minimum notice applicable by law, will mean you accept those changes. Please e-mail us if you have any questions.
